THE ACADEMIC & EXAMINATION BOARD

The Academic Board is responsible for

  • Development of policies and procedures to ensure academic quality

  • Implementation academic policies and procedures

  • Facilitating the compliance of the policies and procedure developed

  • Approving the deployment of teachers

  • Review and improve policies concerning course entry, course content, duration of modules or subjects as well as assessment of students, teacher requirements and advice for improvement

The Examination Board is responsible for

  • Ensuring the security of examinations, assessment and answer scripts

  • Ensuring the proper conduct of examinations and assessments

  • Defining and ensuring the proper discharge of duties and responsibilities of invigilators and markers

  • Conduct moderation of examination and assessment marks

  • Handle appeals from students with regard to examination or assessment matters

THE ACADEMIC & EXAMINATION BOARD MEMBERS

MR. GOH CHIN HONG

Mr. Goh Chin Hong holds a Masters in Computer Science and a Bachelor in Computer Science and Information Systems from the National University of Singapore. Having worked as a Research Assistant in the School of Computing at the National University of Singapore, Mr. Goh Chin Hong then joined the School of Infocomm Technology at Republic Polytechnic (RP) as an Academic staff in 2003 and he was promoted to be the Assistant Director (Capability Development) in 2009. He led a team of 5 senior staff to develop the following areas: Industry Collaborations and Developments, Continuing Education and Training and Staff Training and Development. He had successfully joint published two publications titled PeerDB: Peering into Personal Databases and StegVault: Pervasive Information Hiding in an Anonymous P2P Environment.

Mr. Goh Chin Hong has 10 years’ experience in academic curriculum development and management in RP and Singapore Raffles Music College. His strength in academic development has seen the successful development of the overall programme structure in RP and implementation of various workshops to supplement student learning with raving feedback from all participants. His extensive knowledge in staff training and development ensures the development and promotion of new opportunities for staff and students. He was awarded the Outstanding Facilitation Award for two consecutive years (2007 & 2008).

MDM. NUR ARAFAH ALI, NURA

Mdm. Nura Ali has more than 19 years of teaching experience as a teacher, facilitator and lecturer in government schools and private institutions; like East Asia Institute of Management, Management Development Institute of Singapore and BMC Commercial Training School, and community-help programmes such as Mendaki Tuition Scheme. Equipped with a 2nd Class Honours in Bachelor of Arts in Southeast Asian Studies and Economics from the National University of Singapore, she has been progressively enhancing her experiences in teaching, mentoring and handling academic related roles and responsibilities.

She took up the Certificate in Intensive Thai Language Programme from Naresuan University in Thailand as her love for language is not only limited to English. To further sharpen her teaching skills, she has acquired the Certificate in Teaching Methodology (Credit) from Southern Cross University in Australia, Certificate in Teacher Programme from the Ministry of Education in Singapore and Diploma in TESOL (Distinction) from the London Teacher Training College.

MR. WILLARD TAN

Willard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality & Tourism Management (Distinction), and a Master of Business Administration in Hospitality Management (Distinction) from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. In terms of teaching qualifications, he has completed the Specialist Diploma in Applied Learning and Teaching awarded by Republic Polytechnic, Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers awarded by the University of Cambridge, Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), and the Certificate of Professional Practice in Public Speaking awarded by the London Teacher Training College, UK. Willard is a HR Certified Professional in Talent Management (WDA), Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) awarded by the Society of Wine Educators, USA, and has completed his Advanced Certification awarded by Wine & Spirit UK Trust (WSET), UK, along with the Sommelier Examinations by the Court of Master Sommeliers. In addition, he has completed the IRCA ISO 9001:2015 Certified Lead Auditor, and is also a Practitioner of the Chartered Quality Institute, UK (PCQI).  He is currently pursuing towards a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. His ongoing research interests are into educational technology, cybernetics, constraints of ICT adoption, realistic evaluation and consumer behaviours.

MR. RYAN GOH MING FENG (CEO)

Mr. Ryan Goh has more than 15 years of working experiences in Exxon Mobile Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, Ace 99 Cultural Pte Ltd, Kingston International College and Singapore Raffles Music College. He is the CEO of Kingston International College and Kingston Learning Centre as well as the executive director of Singapore Raffles Music College.

Ryan holds a Bachelor Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering (2nd Class Upper) from the National University of Singapore and has acquired more than 10 years of experience in the education industry covering various roles ranging from Lecturing, Marketing, Operations, Senior Management and also serving on the School Advisory Board for Qihua Primary School. He is a firm believer in benefiting others through quality education thereby inspiring people to exceed their own limitations.

As management in Ace 99 Cultural Pte Ltd, he has successful planned and executed numerous events and handled more than 30,000 participants over the years. He has also successfully brought both Kingston International College and Singapore Raffles Music College to attain the Edutrust 4 years certification

Before joining Kingston International College, she was the Head of School for Business English at East Asia Institute of Management and was a part of the institute’s Editorial Review Committee (ERC) where she had made significant contributions towards the efficient and effective development of the Business English curricula, academic quality and teaching. She was awarded the Best Lecturer award in 2009. As Principal at Kingston International College, she is responsible for the management of the full-range of functions and activities of the academic department, including the deployment and performance assessment of a faculty of full-time and part-time lecturers and the classroom management of the international students enrolled in programmes of the institute.
